THE PROJECT:
An extensive renovation of a 1980s Salter Point Home, designed to maximise breathtaking 180-degree views of the Canning River and Perth Hills.
The Story:
Originally built in the 1980s, this home featured a compartmentalised layout with separate lounge, dining, bar, meals, TV room, atrium, and kitchen areas. While the property had incredible potential, the existing layout closed off the stunning views and limited natural light.
Our clients envisioned a modern, open-plan living space that would seamlessly connect the indoors and outdoors.
To bring this vision to life, Next Level Extensions:
- Opened up the space – Internal walls were removed to create a single, expansive kitchen, living, dining, and family area.
- Maximised the views – Existing bay windows were replaced with a continuous 10.4m opening featuring SolarLux slide-and-turn doors, supported by steel beams for structural integrity.
- Repurposed original materials – Bricks and jarrah mouldings were salvaged, cleaned, and reinstalled to blend old with new.
- Relocated the kitchen – Designed with stunning Blackwood veneer cabinetry, Caesarstone benchtops, and integrated appliances, the new kitchen offers both style and function.
- Updated key elements – A custom wrought-iron staircase, travertine floors extending to the balcony, and a gas log fireplace with bespoke cabinetry completed the transformation.
The Result:
A home that fully embraces its spectacular location, offering a seamless connection to the outdoors and a modern, functional space. The clients are over the moon with the transformation and will enjoy the space for many years to come.
